Black Clouds & Silver Linings – JFA Classic Edition

Remixed & Remastered from the isolated audio stems – This community edition of the tracks was made with the intent of incorporating some pre-1990 sonic elements of rock/metal recordings where suitable, and to increase dynamic range

Theatre of Tragedy – Storm (Remastered) [Unofficial] Samples

Theatre of Tragedy’s 2006 Album – Storm, originally released at a DR6 rating, unofficially remastered as a DR10 album. 2 Sample songs available – Fade & Exile, for those who are interested in the differences between the modern ultra-compressed, low dynamic recordings and how they might sound were they mastered/mixed with more natural dynamics and lower average loudness level

Slipknot – Iowa (Remastered) [Unofficial] Sample

Originally a DR7 heavily clipped album – now “re-mastered” to a DR11-level. Turn it up loud on a good-quality sound system to enjoy to the fullest. Original tone & agression should be retained – but with added musicality and variety as a result of the increased dynamics & harmonic restoration

Dream Theater – Systematic Chaos (Remastered DR11) [Unofficial]

Originally a DR6 heavily clipped album – now “re-mastered” to a DR11-level. Turn it up loud on a good-quality sound system to enjoy to the fullest.

Nickelback – Dark Horse (Remastered DR11) [Unofficial]

Originally a DR4 & DR5 set of tracks – now “re-mastered” to a DR11-level – with my usual de-clipping treatment as well as dynamics changes and minor EQ alterations. This album has been redone with the aim of bringing the presence of the music back in to focus and giving the overall album more life.

Dream Theater – A Rite of Passage (Remastered DR11) [Unofficial]

Remastering of the Dream Theater new album preview single. Originally a DR6 marginally clipped track – now “re-mastered” to a DR12-level – General dynamics treatments and so on. The impact, and the resultant attention it draws from the listener as a result of the increased dynamics and seperation of instruments helps make the song a lot more memorable & also interesting.
