Megadeth - Endgame (2009)

Discuss albums which are brickwalled but have little or no clipping and not pushed to the extent of distortion / crackling / destroying the audio. These albums likely sound fine, however in most cases could have sounded much better

uhhhh, yet another awesome Megadeth record crushed and brickwalled. :x
stupid record label executives
But seriously, Andy Sneap needs to ditch those triggered drums. Nothing can replace the resonance of a real drum.

I've done some treatments on this record - primarily to give more "air" into the mix and to bring out more character in the snare roll and double-bass etc. Will hopefully upload a few samples shortly

dammn Thanks Jnive! the whole album now has a certain punch and dimension that it lacked before! Chris and Dave's leads pop out at the listener, Shawn's snare and kicks pack more punch! Its brilliant. This remaster confirms for me that Andy Sneap records can sound good!

I am so happy you're back, jNive :) I've done my own simple "enhancement" based on your tips and I was satisfied with it... until now ;) You rock - keep doing these enhanced versions, as you are my last hope of hearing good music the right way!

If anyone is in a Megadeth mood...
i have all original versions as well as the 'remixed and remastered' Megadeth CDs
all of these R&R versions are DR6 (except for Countdown To Extinction for some reason [DR8] :?: )
now with most of these i prefer the original cos of the extra dynamics...except for a few which have especially poor production. Now im guessing most of you will prefer a
bad studio mix + dynamics
vs
crisp studio mix - less dynamics

one of the CDs where i prefer the R&R mix is one of my fave records = Youthanasia
when i know that the R&R version has such a crisp sound, it makes it hard for me to listen to the original
could someone have a go at enhancing the R&R version please?
(i have no idea how long it takes or how much effort goes into this sort of thing - i'm guessing a lot though, so tell me if i'm asking for too much :) )

Might do that as the first treatment job on the new ProTools 8 setup - give it a good exercise !! - Will post any updates regarding that
